A-01 Headphones

One in six Australians are affected by hearing loss. This is expected to increase to one in four by 2050. Understanding the demands this trend is placing on the hospital resources, led to the A-01s initial development. The realisation that headphones could be developed to straddle the two world of medical and consumer was radical. To be able to cost effectively medically test a person’s hearing loss any time anywhere and then adapt, personalise and perfect incoming sound with the test data was a revolutionary, company creating, product forming and market disrupting moment in time.

Audeara headphones adapt with your hearing throughout your lifetime – so from the very first time they test you, they give you perfect sound, always. Personalised technology and designed to last a lifetime.

About Audeara

Audeara CEO Dr James Fielding started this journey as a junior doctor seeing patients struggle to get hearing tests. In exploring this issue and an endeavour to develop an accessible hearing test, he unlocked a passion to solve an even greater problem. Around the same time, he watched his grandfather refuse to get help with his declining hearing and subsequently his ability to engage with the world.

What started out as accessible hearing test software, turned into a way to change sound output via a set of headphones. It turns out that changing sound so it’s suited to an individual hearing profile makes a significant difference to an overall listening experience.

The software evolved to provide listeners with a simple understanding of their hearing, which can be performed in the comfort of their own home. This provides an objective measure of how they compare to other people, so they can then make informed choices about their lifestyle or need to see a hearing health professional.

Right Hear, Right Now

Everyone hears differently, left ears hear differently to right ears. Using the app, Audeara charts these differences and visualises and tracks unique hearing profiles as it changes over time.

The profile is programmed into the Audeara headphones, which learn how to tailor the music to each individual’s needs. This enhances their experience through precision - not volume - and looks after their hearing for life.

This allows people to find new parts in their favorite song and hear notes they didn’t know were missing. Audeara puts the user at the heart of the music experience by focusing on what really matters – what they can hear.
